Who can rent?

Our service is intended for contractor companies, production companies, events, and other organization-backed projects. Company representatives can rent in the name of the company provided that they can give us the company's billing address and name. If a regular person wants to rent, it will be evaluated in a case-by-case basis

Who can buy or request services?

Any person or company may request equipment services or buy used machines from Skyblack Rentals.

What types of equipment do you rent?

We rent construction equipment and tools, mostly compact and heavy equipment. That includes skid steers, mini excavators, excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, backhoes, scissor lifts, boom lifts, motor graders, rollers, soil compactors, concrete buggies, forklifts, electric forklifts, light towers, water trucks, water trailers, air compressors, and water pump rentals.

How much does it cost to rent equipment from Skyblack Rentals?

Our rental rates vary depending on the type of equipment, the rental duration, and the availability of the equipment. We offer competitive rates and flexible rental terms to meet your needs.

Do you sell used equipment?

Yes, we sell a wide variety of used equipment. Our used equipment is inspected and maintained by our experienced technicians, and we offer a warranty on all of our used equipment

How do I get a quote for rental or sales?

You can get a quote by contacting us through our contact page, by filling out our online quote form, or by adding machines to a cart and requesting the quote on checkout. The last option will allow you to carefully select machines, browse rates, and add the specifics or your project to get a precise pricing.

Are fuels part of the price?

We deliver the machines full of fuels, and you should return the machines as you find them. Otherwise, we will charge the fuel you did not fueled back!

How do machine damages work?

If the machine damage is due to operator use, you'll be charged for the damages on the invoices. In other cases (factory errors, wear, tear, missing fluids, or errors that were there since you got the machine), we will cover for the damages. If you find issues with the machine, call our mechanics' team at (832) 806-0576. They will attend your case within the day, and decide weather or not to charge you, depending on the nature of the damage. ;b

Do the machines have insurance?

We rent the machines with a Rental Protection Plan, which translates into a 15% bump on the rental rate. This is not insurance, though. It's a damage waiver that covers flooding, theft, fire, and other out-of-control damages to the machine. If you have insurance, you can skip the RPP and have the insurance cover for these types of damages.

How to Rent Equipment?

To rent equipment, you need to choose what you want and communicate to our team the date and address of the jobsite online, via phone, or personally. Once that's done, you can sign a contract and pay, or sign a credit application to finance the project (and upcoming projects). Whomever attends you, online or offline, will continue to attend you as your personal contact point.

What is a contact point?

A "Contact Point" is a member of our team that will provide you with personalized attention on rentals, sales, equipment service, ann anything else you might want from us. Your contact point might contact you via email, phone, or personally.

How does the rental period work?

We charge for daily, weekly, and monthly rates:

A day is 8 business hours A week is 40 business hours, or 5 business days A month is 160 business hours or 20 business days (about 28 days)

We will evaluate the machine's use after we pick up the machine and, if we find your usage is significantly more than what you paid for, we will charge you accordingly. We're quite flexible, though, and this rarely happens.

When does the rental period ends?

Your rental period ends when the agreed business days/hours end. We'll contact you when the period is about to end to "call off" the machine, and you can contact us to call if off as well.

If you do not contact us, or if you do not answer our calls or emails to call-off the machine, we assume that you're extending the rental, and we'll charge you properly at daily rates.

Can you extend the rental period?

You can extend the rental period with one-day notice to get weekly and monthly rates, if need be.

Contact your contact point if you need a rental extension!

What are the charges of a rental?

Aside from the rental rate, we would also charge the delivery and pickup, which depends on the distance from downtown Houston and other key locations, as well as the machine's weight.

We also charge our Rental Protection Plan, a 15% charge on the rental rate. This is a damage waiver that covers you against fire, theft, flooding, and other natural disasters. It does not act as insurance.

We also charge the Environmental Tax as per Texas standards, unless you're renting an electric machine. This fee is a 3% over the rental rate.

We charge the Sales Taxes as per Texas standards. That's 8.25% of the rental rate.

If you pay with a credit card or debit card, we charge an additional 3.5% as per bank standards. This is the Processing Fee. Lastly, will charge the refueling in the final invoice, which is the fuel we have to put back on the machine compared with the fuel we gave you. All of these charges are included in the initial quote.

Are the extra charges or hidden fees in a rental?

There're various possible extra charges, which you can avoid.

The first one is "Dry runs". These failed are the hauling trips we take to deliver or pick-up the machine to you or from you. If we failed the trip because of client error, we must charge the trip.

The second charge is refueling. You ought to return the machine with as much fuel as it had when you found it. Otherwise, we will charge the refueling at $8.5 per gallon.

We also charge "excess use," which means the extra time you keep the machine. We charge excess use at daily rates.

Then, we charge operator damages, in case we find damages to the machine that were caused by operator misuse.

"Refueling" charges mean an extra payment for every fuel gallon missing compared to when the machine left our branch. The rate is $9.50 per gallon.

DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fuel) drained also has a price of $20 per gallon.

Lastly, we charge $20 for missing keys.

We will communicate the extra charges on the final invoice after the fact, as we need to check the machine after we pick it up.

Is the delivery time guaranteed?

We have a 95% on-time deliveries, so we almost guaranteed the delivery will be on time. If anything happens (something that's mostly outside of our control) we will let you know and reach a new solution.

Can I pick up and drop-off the equipment yourself?

Due to safety and insurance reasons, only our haulers (which are properly trained for the job) can transport the equipment.

Are fuels part of the price?

It is not. While we deliver the machine full, we will charge for refueling, if need be, on the final invoice. In other words, it's your responsibility to refuel the machine, which counts for both fuel and diesel. If you receive full, return it full as well!

Do I need any documents to open a Credit Account?

You only need to fill out as much information as possible in the credit application, and you don't need any extra documents. However, it would help to send us your W9 document, your Tax Exempt document (if you have one), and your COI document (your certificate of insurance, if you have one). The Tax Exempt make us remove the taxes from your invoices; the COI would make us remove the RPP from the invoices.

Do I need any documents to pay upfront?

If you're paying upfront rather than financing your rentals with a Credit Account, you need to sign a card authorization form for validation and security reasons.

You also need to sign a contract for the rental, and for each rental.

You can sign both documents online.

What payment methods do I have for a rental?

You can pay online through a QuickBooks link we provide or the Customer Portal on our web-page. Online, you can use bank wires, credit cards, or debit cards.

Naturally, you can deposit the payment to our account, or make a bank wire to our account.

You can also pay personally, on our branch, with a credit card or debit card. Lastly, you can deposit a check on your prefered bank, or send us a picture of your check so we can scan it and collect the payment.

The Tax Exempt make us remove the taxes from your invoices; the COI would make us remove the RPP from the invoices.

For how much time can I rent the equipment?

We currently don't have a limit as to how much time you can keep the equipment for rent; we value it on a case-by-case basis.

When do you pick up the equipment after you finish?

We tend to pick-up the equipment immediately after you finish the job, although sometimes we may take a couple days more. Make sure to call off the machine when you finish, which means telling your contact point that you finished using the equipment.

Do I need to call when I finish the rental?

You should only call if you find issues with the equipment, or if you'd want to extend the period of your rental. We will contact you when the rental end date approaches. However, if locked gates or other accessibility issues prevent us from picking the rental machine, we will charge you the extra days accordingly.

How do machine damages work?

If the machine damage is due to operator use, you'll be charged for the damages on the invoices.
